Take a position

The work of the various desks in the division of Education on Development Policy is aimed at change processes in our church and society. With Christian responsibility, we consider global issues and impulses from international cooperation and draw conclusions for the life and work practice in our country. With educational offers on development policy issues, we want to encourage and empower people to actively participate in shaping their social and political environment worldwide in the interests of more justice.

As part of our lobbying work, we cooperate with numerous political and social actors for a solidary and sustainable way of life in which power and resources are distributed more fairly. Our commitment and that of many initiatives and groups in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Northern Germany stand for a critical, self-critical – if needed, uncomfortable – resistance.

Church Climate Action Partnerships (CCAP)

The East of Lake Victoria Diocese (Tanzania) and the Centre for Global Ministries and Ecumenical Relations initiated a new type of partnership based on the theme of climate justice.

The collaboration is scheduled to last three years.

Together, the participating institutions from Tanzania and Germany will build knowledge and skills on climate protection and adaptation to climate change. The aim is to develop and implement their own climate action plans at parish level.
