In Mankind's Cradle

nudge me, love, in mankind’s cradle
take away my shoes and clothes
i sleepwalk in all your directions
as you warm my stumbling toes

dry my cup, it’s overflowing
send my letters to the breeze
wrap my words in song and prayer
like the calls from overseas

look at you, oh boundless mother
searching, i forget to find
for i am drunk and willed to wander
til you lose my clouded mind
