Partnerships for climate justice – Partner congregations wanted!
Together with our partners worldwide we are facing the challenges of climate change. Increasing periods of drought on the one hand and catastrophic floods on the other are just one example of the effects of the climate crisis. We can only overcome the climate crisis together, by adapting to its impacts, but above all by reducing greenhouse gases.
We would like to invite you to rethink international church partnerships based on the common action on climate justice! Together with the East of Lake Victoria Diocese (ELVD) in northern Tanzania, we will want to start the project “Community Church Partnerships for Climate Justice – Taking action through exchange!” As part of a 3-year climate partnership between congregations of the ELVD and the Ev. Luth. Church in Northern Germany (Nordkirche), capacities should be built up in an intensive exchange in order to develop and implement climate action plans on both sides.
In the context of this international dialogue we want to present the project idea, invite congregations from the Nordkirche to become part of these partnerships and start a first exchange with representative from the congregations of the ELVD.
The project will be presented and discussed together with:

Pamoja na washirika wetu duniani kote tunakabiliwa na changamoto za mabadiliko ya tabianchi. Kuongezeka kwa vipindi vya ukame kwa upande mmoja na mafuriko mabaya kwa upande mwingine ni mfano mmoja tu wa athari za mabadiliko ya hali ya hewa. Tunaweza tu kuondokana na tatizo la madhara ya mabadiliko ya hali ya hewa kwa pamoja, kwa kukabiliana na athari zake, lakini juu ya yote kwa kupunguza gesi chafuzi.
Tungependa kukualika ufikirie upya ushirika wa kimataifa wa makanisa kulingana na hatua ya pamoja kuhusu haki ya hali ya hewa! Kwa pamoja na Dayosisi ya Mashariki ya Ziwa Victoria (DMZV) kaskazini mwa Tanzania, tutaanza mradi wa „Ushirikiano wa Jamii kwa Haki ya Hali ya Hewa – Kuchukua hatua kwa kubadilishana!“ Kama sehemu ya ushirikiano wa miaka 3 wa hali ya hewa kati ya Dayosisi Mashariki ya Ziwa Victoria na Kanisa la Kilutheri la Kaskazini mwa Ujerumani (Nordkirche), uwezo unapaswa kujengwa katika mabadilishano makubwa ili kuendeleza na kutekeleza mipango ya utekelezaji wa mipango ya kukabiliana na hali ya hewa kwa pande zote mbili.
Katika muktadha wa mazungumzo haya ya kimataifa tunataka kuwasilisha wazo la mradi, kukaribisha sharika kutoka Nordkirche kuwa sehemu ya ushirikiano huu na kuanza mazungumzo ya kwanza na mwakilishi kutoka kwa sharika za DMZV.

Einladung zum internationalen Dialog am Dienstag, 7. Juni, 17:30 -19:30 (deutsche Zeit), 18:30 – 20:30 (tansanische Zeit)
Wir möchten Sie einladen, internationale kirchliche Partnerschaften auf der Grundlage des gemeinsamen Handelns für Klimagerechtigkeit neu zu denken! Gemeinsam mit der East of Lake Victoria Diocese (ELVD) (ELVD) im Norden Tansanias wollen wir das Projekt „Church Partnerships for Climate Justice – Taking action through exchange!“ starten. Im Rahmen einer 3-jährigen Klimapartnerschaft zwischen Gemeinden der ELVD und der Ev . Luth. Kirche in Norddeutschland ( Nordkirche ) sollen im intensiven Austausch Wissen und Fähigkeiten zu Klimaschutz und Anpassung an den Klimawandel aufgebaut werden. Ziel ist es eigene Klimaaktionspläne auf Gemeindeebene in Tansania und Deutschland zu entwickeln und umzusetzen.
Im Rahmen dieses internationalen Dialogs wollen wir die Projektidee vorstellen, Gemeinden der Nordkirche einladen Teil dieser Partnerschaften zu werden und einen ersten Austausch mit Vertreter:innen aus der ELVD starten.
Das Projekt wird gemeinsam vorgestellt und diskutiert mit:
